What DOPO means and why boards ask for it

DOPO is short for Date Of Photograph On photo. The name and the date are printed on the photograph itself so a candidate cannot swap in a different picture later. Selection boards compare the uploaded photograph against the one you carry to document verification, and several state police and state commission forms ask for the strip explicitly.

Write the name exactly as it appears on the application form — no initials, no nicknames.
Use the date the photograph was taken, which is usually printed on the studio receipt or embedded in the file.
Keep the strip on the same white background as the photo so the whole card looks like one print.
If your board also fixes the KB size of the photo, set a file size above and the image is compressed for you.

How it will work

1 Upload the passport photo you are submitting.
2 Type your name exactly as it appears on the application form and pick the date the photo was taken.
3 The maker lays out a white strip below the image with matched margins and font sizing, then adds the standard 3 cm allowance.
4 Download a print-ready JPG for a studio print or a direct upload.

Privacy
